Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires is on the verge of sealing a move away from Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports. The 28-year old is close to joining Jiangsu Suning, a Chinese based team who are the next in a long-line of Asian clubs to splash the cash in order to persuade big names to join their growing league.
The deal is thought to be worth £25million in terms of a transfer fee, which is some profit for Chelsea who paid just over £15million to land him back in 2010, and it feels like the perfect time to move him on.
This season he has been largely limited to minutes from off of the bench, which for a player of his calibre isn’t ideal. The disappointing thing about this deal is the fact that in the peak of his career he is choosing money over quality of football, which is a real shame for a player who can certainly still mix it with the best.
