Chelsea look for a defender to replace Schalke bound Baba Rahman

Chelsea defender Baba Rahman is heading back the Bundesliga this summer after he completed a medical with Schalke, leaving the Blues to look for a replacement.

The Chelsea defender is expected to completed a season long loan deal to Schalke despite only moving to Stamford Bridge last summer on a £20million move from Augsburg.

One man who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias.

The 24-year old Columbian can play on either side of defence and was watched by Chelsea scouts last week. He has spent three years with the Eredivisie champions, making 32 appearances for the club last season where he scored three goals.

He also has 27 caps for Columbia.
