Chelsea’s talented young attacker Charly Musonda is set to join Scottish Champions Celtic on a 18 month loan deal in the coming days.
According to reports in the Scottish Herald, The Hoops have managed to fight off competition from Spanish side Leganes and Italian club Roma to secure a deal to bring the highly rated 21-year-old to Celtic Park.
Musonda spoke earlier this season about his frustration at a lack of first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte has used the youngster sparingly, although he did show plenty of promise when given an opportunity in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
The Belgium U21 international can play in midfield or on the wing, and is blessed with searing pace and dazzling dribbling ability.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a former Chelsea youth team coach, and has supposedly been monitoring the players situation for some time with a view to securing a deal. If the deal goes through in the coming days, as is expected, Celtic will be hopeful that the talented youngster can make a similar impact to Patrick Roberts who joined from Manchester City in a loan deal last season.
