Cenk Tosun agrees personal terms and passes medical ahead of £25m transfer

Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun has completed a medical and agreed personal terms with Everton ahead of a £25m move according to reports

The striker has had a great start to the season, scoring 12 goals in total, including four in the Champions League this season, and has struck an impressive 41 goals in 96 league games since joining Besiktas from Gaziantepspor in 2014.

His form has seen him attract attention from a number of clubs, including Crystal Palace and Newcastle. However, according to The Sun, the 26-year-old was at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground on Wednesday completing the necessary medical checks and discussing personal terms.

It is claimed that the move will set the Toffees back an initial £20m, with the fee potentially rising to £25m depending on bonuses, and could be completed next week when the transfer window reopens.

Everton were heavily criticised for failing to replace Romelu Lukaku who left the club for Manchester United in the summer as part of a £75m deal.

They were linked to a number of strikers to replace the Belgian, with Arsenal hitman Olivier Giroud most strongly linked with a potential move to Goodison Park, although Allardyce has recently commented that he doubts the Frenchman will join in January due to his wife’s desire to stay in London.
