Borussia Dortmund beat Premier League clubs to Gotze signing

Borussia Dortmund are on the brink of re-signing Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze despite interest from the English Premier League.

German newspaper Bild claim that the 24-year old has agreed to return to the Westfalenstadion after just three years at Bayern Munich.

He moved to the Bavarian club in 2013 in a £30million deal after being billed as one of the hottest properties in Europe. However the World Cup winner has failed to live up to his big billing and could now be set to move back to his former club.

Despite having just one-year left on his Bayern a unify contract, it is believed that the deal to take Gotze back to Dortmund is worth around £23million.

They have beaten off competition from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for the midfielders signature.
