Liverpool target Alex Teixeira could be on the verge of a £38million transfer according to reports in Italy, published by The Star this morning.
The Brazilian forward has been a target for Jurgen Klopp throughout the January transfer window, but the clubs could not agree a fee, with the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk holding firm on their valuation for Teixeira.
However, Calciomercato claim that the Brazilian could be about to move to Chinese Super League club, Jiangsu Suning. The publication claim;
Transfer talks between the two parties are ongoing, though the Brazilian midfielder is expected to agree personal terms with Jiangsu Suning soon.
This would be a huge blow to Liverpool who were believed to be interested in re-entering negotiations for Teixera in the summer.
Teixeira’s potential move to China is possible as the transfer window is still open in China until 26th February. Should Teixeira move to the Chinese Super League, he would join other South American stars, Ramires, Fredy Guarin, and Jackson Martinez who have all moved to the Far East in recent weeks.
