Marouane Fellaini is a wanted man

Turkish Club Besiktas have revealed that they are working to sign Manchester United midfielder, Marouane Fellaini. It is not the first time that Fellaini has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Turkey and Italy often being touted as potential destinations for the Belgian.

Fellaini has just eight months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford, with the club planning contract talks imminently. United have a policy of only offering a one-year deal to those players over the age of 30, but could have to bend their own rules to keep him at the club.

Despite the 30-year-old being widely criticised during his first few seasons at the club under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, he has established himself as a key member of the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho.

Besiktas club official Metin Albayrak told turkish-football.com.

“Transfer plans never end, we are always working.

“Fellaini is on our list, we have made efforts to sign him but not just him.

“He is not the only player we scouted, our scouting team watched 20 games live this week. We are keeping tabs on several players.

“The club has plans for Turkey and Europe, there are negotiations.

“We want to make the signing for the winter transfer window or for the end of the season.”
