Barcelona banned from signing players for next two transfer windows

FC Barcelona have been banned from signing players in the next two transfer windows, after FIFA rejected their appeal against the ban that was imposed earlier in the year. FIFA said that the ban was due to ‘international transfer of minors’, but Barcelona immediately appealed against the ban.

The appealing of the ban caused their embargo to be upheld for this transfer window, in which they’ve signed five first-team players – including £75million man Luis Suarez.

Full list of transfer incomings:

Claudio Bravo – £9.5million (Real Sociedad)
Ivan Rakitic – Undisclosed (Sevilla)
Luis Suarez – £75million (Liverpool)
Jeremy Mathieu – £15.8million (Valencia)
Thomas Vermaelen – £15million (Arsenal)

Barcelona will now be unable to purchase players until January of 2016, in just under eighteen months time.
