Arsenal target Watford striker for January transfer

The January transfer has started quite slowly, just as you’d expect to be honest. However Arsenal could be about to kick into life, making a move for Watford striker and captain, Troy Deeney.

Denny, 27, has been the lynchpin of Watford FC over the last few seasons, scoring goals for fun in both the Championship and the Premier League.

That has led to doubts about his future, and with Arsenal crying out for a striker who knows the Premier League well, Deeny would certainly be an astute piece of business if Wenger can pull it off.

Its a huge if though as Watford will be extremely reluctant to let their captain go in the middle of the season for any fee at all. He and Ighalo have been superb to watch at the start of this term, and it’d be a shame if that is to be broken up.
