Arsenal have ramped up their efforts as they attempt to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
With just one week to go in the transfer window, Arsenal have been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League with regard to transfer rumours, having already negotiated a deal to bring in Henrikh Mkhitaryan and allowing Alexis Sanchez to leave. They are deep in discussions with the Bundesliga side regarding Aubameyang while are also interested in signing West Brom defender Jonny Evans.
Arsenal are believed to have already agreed personal terms with the Gabon International striker, but are still trying to negotiate a deal with his current employers, Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners have already seen a £45m bid for the forward knocked back, but according to German publication, Bild, Arsene Wenger’s side have submitted a fresh bid of around £50m.
It has previously been claimed that Dortmund have set the asking price at €60m (£53m), so this latest offer is close to what they are asking for.
Aubameyang has been in excellent form this season, despite having missed several games due to his off the field disciplinary issues, and has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances.
Should he make the move to the Emirates, he will link up with former Dortmund teammate Mkhitaryan who had a fantastic partnership during the 2015/16 season at the Signal Idunda Park.
