Arsenal 3-3 Liverpool: Five Things We Learned

Arsenal and Liverpool played out yet another epic Premier League fixture tonight, that eventually ended in a 3-3 draw. Let’s take a look at 5 things we learned from tonight’s hugely entertaining encounter …

Quick comeback from Arsenal

The Gunners were toothless in attack in the first-half and were incredibly lucky to be just 1-0 down after the first 45 minutes. They failed to produce a shot on target in a very poor first-half. However, Arsenal scored three goals in five minutes from their first three shots on target to take the lead before Liverpool equalised.

Roberto Firmino loves playing against Arsenal

Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino always tends to be influential when his side faces Arsenal. He has been involved in eight goals in his last five Premier League games against The Gunners (five goals, three assists).

This game is consistently entertaining

When Arsenal and Liverpool meet, one thing is guaranteed and that is goals. The last 10 meetings between the two sides have produced 42 goals. There is rarely a dull moment in this fixture and that was proven tonight once again as the match ended 3-3.

Mo Salah is unstoppable

Being able to contribute even when you’re not at your best is key in football, and Mo Salah did this against Arsenal. Salah has played much better in recent weeks but even though he was not on top form, he managed to score his 15th goal of the season.

He has now equalled the 15 goals he scored for Roma last season which was a career best. Salah is a perfect fit for Liverpool and he has certainly justified his £34m price tag.

Arsenal need Mesut Ozil

Both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have contracts with Arsenal that expire at the end of the current season. Most Arsenal fans, if they had to choose between the two, would have picked Sanchez at the start of the season but that has changed.

Ozil has been fantastic for Arsenal in recent weeks and he stepped up against Liverpool in the second-half and scored the third goal when his side needed to respond.
