Agent claims Man Utd target could be sold in the summer

Manchester United target Jorginho could be sold by Napoli in the summer, that is according to the players agent.

The Italian international is one of a number of midfielders who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, as Jose Mourinho looks to replace the retiring Michael Carrick.

Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has claimed that his client is happy in Naples, and could look to sign a new contract, but the potential arrival of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria could force the Serie A club be forced to Brazil-born midfielder to raise funds.

Santos said: “I think we’ll discuss a renewal at the end of the season, as it’s not the moment to talk about that, because he still has a long contract.

“He wants to stay, although we’ll have to see if Napoli agree with that. If a player like Torreira arrives from Sampdoria, then that will require an important investment and Jorginho could be sacrificed to make way.

“I think they’d rather sell Jorginho than Amadou Diawara, who is younger

“It’s an issue of mentality, it’s a family at Napoli and they all play for each other. Right now everyone is concentrated on the Scudetto, an objective they’ve been missing.

“He has been there for four years now and feels Neapolitan.”

United have also been linked with Toni Kroos, Arturo Vidal, Fabinho and a number of other midfielders in recent weeks.
