Arsenal snubbed as Jamie Vardy expected to stay at Leicester

Jamie Vardy has sensationally snubbed a move to Arsenal and chosen to stay at Leicester City according to the son of The Foxes chairman.

Vardy, who was one of England’s goalscoring heroes on Thursday, has been the subject of a £20million bid from Arsenal, as Arsene Wenger looks to bring the 24 goal striker to the Emirates, but it seems as though he will turn down the chance to make the move, instead choosing to continue with the Champions.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the son of Leicesters Chairman told the Daily Mail:

You will see the news very soon, but I think he will stay,

I think so, let’s see. We need to build the team. We keep continuing to believe that we can do something special in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Champions League is going to be amazing for Leicester, so let’s see. Leicester is the underdog and we can still be the underdog.

The Thai businessman claims he, as well as the rest of the City of Leicester are “pinching themselves” over the clubs achievements under Claudio Ranieri, with whom he enjoys an excellent relationship.

We talk a lot. We are like family,

I cannot compare myself to another owner but the best thing is we love sport. The first day we talked to the team and we showed that we are doing something we love and that we can succeed.

I think everyone in Leicester is still pinching themselves. Even the players and staff. Now the season is finished and we have to move on.

Vardy is still involved with England squad at Euro 2016 ahead of their final Group B game on Monday, and it is thought that he won’t announce the decision regarding his future until after the tournament.
